The trade war of recent has caused much economic heartache for the agricultural industry in the United States, affecting farmers, ranchers, cooperatives and agribusinesses alike. The agreement between the U.S. and China, signed today by President Trump, is the first step to providing much needed relief to the industry. Within the deal, China pledges to purchase $32 billion in additional agricultural products, creating a much needed market for U.S. agricultural commodities. We look forward to the continued efforts of the Trump administration to improve the economic climate for agriculture in our great state and nation.
