Developed and implemented in 2017 by Triangle Cooperative Service Company (TCSC) and the Oklahoma Agricultural Cooperative Council (OACC), the Agribusiness Leadership Academy (ALA) is a premier leadership program designed to train existing and emerging leaders in agribusiness management. The academy consists of four, multi-day sessions and one day-long session during which attendees will present their capstone projects and attend a graduation banquet. After receiving applications from many exemplary candidates, the ALA Committee selected nine deserving individuals as members of ALA Class III: Alan Gauldin, Equity Exchange – Perryton, TX Alex Dye, CoMark Equity Alliance – Cheney, KS Caleb Fourkiller, Co-op Services, Inc. – Lawton, OK Shawn Lohmann, Garber Cooperative Association – Garber, OK Jeff Mitchell, Farmers Grain Company – Pond Creek, OK Dakota Nusser, Triangle Cooperative Service Company – Enid, OK Matt Randolph, Triangle Insurance – Enid, OK Phil Symons, Equity Exchange – Perryton, TX Class III met for Session I of the Academy this week, learning about their leadership styles and how to be more effective leaders. “Session I began with a deep look into leadership through Everything DiSC®, StrengthsFinder® and Franklin Covey’s Four Essential Roles of Leadership,” said Sarah Baca, OACC Director of Education and Recruitment. “Developing strong leaders is vital to the continued success of the agricultural cooperative industry. Currently, we are seeing many CEO retirements and need a strong bench of leaders ready to fill those positions. This session of ALA truly is the first step in preparing this class for upcoming general manager positions within cooperatives.” Session II of the Academy takes place January 21-22, 2020 and will take a deep dive into the many facets of accounting and finance.
