This week, agricultural cooperative directors from across Oklahoma met for the Oklahoma Cooperative Director Essentials (OCDE). Hosted by the Oklahoma Agricultural Cooperative Council (OACC), OCDE is a seminar for directors to learn the fundamental aspects of their role within cooperatives. The training explores areas of alignment with governance, finance, strategy and business environment and with the CEO. Developing leaders within the industry is vital to the success of cooperatives. “Directors are critical in developing the vision, strategy and direction for agricultural cooperatives,” said Sarah Baca, OACC’s Director of Education and Recruitment. “OCDE equips them with the core skills necessary to lead their respective companies within their positions as board members. We believe this training is critical to building strong boards and strong cooperatives.” OACC would like to thank the following individuals and cooperatives for investing in their future by attending OCDE: Adam Brockreide, Tillman Producers Cooperative Chuck Tolle, Farmers Grain Company David Bonds, Banner Cooperative Elevator Association Jeremiah Pence, Great Plains Cooperative John Dewbre, Producers Cooperative Oil Mill Kevin Thomason, Burlington Cooperative Association Larry Frey, Great Plains Cooperative For more information on training OACC offers, visit www.okagcoop.org.
